Engelbert Thaler is Chair of Teaching English as a Foreign Language at the University of Augsburg, Germany. His main fields of research are teacher education and training, the development of course books, media literacy, the use of literature in EFL teaching as well as the improvement of teaching quality through balanced teaching. Besides him being a renowned scholar, he looks back on more than 20 years of experience in language teaching in a secondary school in Traunstein, Bavaria.
