With LearningApps.org you can create different games for your students. You can choose between almost 20 different templates such as memory, gap-filling texts, hangman, multiple-choice quizzes etc..

 


Mingoville

Mingoville is a computer game for ESL students offering four different programs: primary school, preschool, fun clock, and storytelling. Each program includes ten missions with over 130 exercises and games, 10.000 audio files recorded by English and American native speakers and songs to sing along as well as lesson plans for teachers. All lessons are based on spelling, pronunciation, reading, writing and listening activities.

 


Mission US

Mission US engages students in the study of transformational moments in American history.  Five  missions treat different times and scenarios such as the Boston Massacre in 1770, the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, the encroachment of white settlers and their influence on the Northern Cheyenne, growing up in New York’s Lower East Side as a young Jewish girl from Russia, and the Great Depression and Dust Bowl of the 1930s. The game is designed for 10-13 year old native speaking teenagers, which probably equates to 13-19 year old EFL learners. In addition, the website provides guides for teachers on how to implement the game into their classes. The mission “Up from the Dust” is even free of charge.

Past/Present is an immersive computer game designed to impart decision-making and critical thinking skills in the study of American history. It is designed for 10-15 year old native speaking teenagers, which probably equates to 15-19 year old EFL learners. In addition, the website provides advice for teachers on how to implement the game into their classes as well as detailed lesson plans. The game is free of charge.

 


ProProfs Brain Games & Online Puzzles

On this website you can create and play online brain games and puzzles. The make up is very intuitive and offers various different options to choose from. The final quiz can be sent to your students via e-mail or embedded into another website. For the quizzes, students get immediate feedback on their score, the correct answers and an explanation on why this is correct.

 


PurposeGames

Purposegames.com offers you to create your own interactive online games that you can play with your students. Moreover, the website provides already created games that could be played in class instead.

 


Quizlet

Create vocabulary-learn-sets for your students with quizlet.com. Your students can revise the words with online flashcards, practice how to spell and pronounce them, test themselves whenever they want and play a memory or racing game using the vocabulary.

 


Seek ‘n Spell

The App Seek ’n Spell, which is available for Apple and Android devices, uses your GPS to create a new type of game. The object is to gather virtual letters and create words.
